New ownership means a renewed philosophy
toward customer service and value at
The Florida Club in Martin County.
The management and ownership team is focused on providing a country club atmosphere for visitors to this public-access facility just west of Stuart. “The philosophy here is that you can come here to play golf, be treated by a friendly, helpful staff and play a golf course with a lot of character,” said general manager Tom Welz. And during the summer offseason, golfers can play The Florida Club at extraordinary savings. The normal summer rate is $45 including cart, $25 after 2 p.m. and $15 after 4:30 p.m. And with a coupon that is currently available, golfers can experience this Old Florida layout for $30 before 10:30 a.m. and $20 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “That’s as good as you’re going to get anywhere,” Welz said. “Price- and value-wise, we’re one of the better golf courses out there.”
Welz has been operating the course off State Road 76 near South Fork High School since new owner Tom Welz bought The Florida Club in November. And the focus at the course ever since has been not only on customer service, but also on improving conditions of the golf course.
